Rail passengers have been facing severe delays on the high-speed line between Gravesend and Stratford International.

Southeastern said the delays are because of a "trespass incident" near Ebbsfleet International this afternoon.

Services running through Gravesend, Dartford, Ebbsfleet and Stratford Inetrnational were delayed at short notice, a spokesman said.

It said the lines re-opened at about 1.30pm, but delays were expected to continue as the backlog cleared.

Kent Police and British Transport Police officers are said to be at the scene.
