A man from Northfleet will stand trial next month accused of being racially abusive to a police officer.

Tom Graham, of Harden Road, faces a total of four charges in relation to an incident in Gravesend town centre on December 8 last year.

The 26-year-old faces a second charge of being racially abusive against another unnamed individual, and two others of using threatening, abusive or insulting words.

One of these relates to PC Parker, who is of Afro-Carribean origin.

Mr Graham denies all of the charges.

The trial, which is expected to last all day, will be heard at Dartford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 1.
