A field in Higham has been taped off by police after a gun was found this morning.

It is understood up to 10 police cars were at the scene in Lower Rochester Road earlier today.

Officers were spotted at the scene by passers-by at 8.25am.

Kent Police said officers were called to reports of "lost property" before officers discovered a bag containing a firearm.

They are currently working to establish what the items are and who they belong to.
