Runners take part in 30th North Downs Run

Scores of runners pounded the streets and pathways in the 30th North Downs Run at the weekend.

Sunday’s 30km race started and finished at Cascades Leisure Centre, Thong Lane, Gravesend, taking athletes through some beautiful countryside around Shorne, Cobham, Cuxton Valley, Holly Hill, Luddesdown Court, Jeskyns Nature Reserve and Ashenbank Wood.

There was also a 1km fun run for children.

In the girls’ race for those aged 8 and over, Ella Bolton came first, Sophie Balti was second and Emma Baker third. In the boys’ race, Conor Murdoch won, Noah Saunders came second and Joseph Sanderson third.

In the under 8 race, Ellie Soave won the girls’ run with Katie Douse second and Polly Soave third, while Joe Baker won the boys’ race with Archie Aldous second and Oscar Lay third.
