Crash involving three vehicles on A2 Watling Street at A227 turn off causes congestion to Strood

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A2 this morning.

At around 7.30am three cars were involved in a collision on the A2 at the turn off for the A227 and Gravesend Central.

A 49-year-old man was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, suffering with back and neck pain.

He was fully conscious.

One ambulance and a paramedic car from South East Coast Ambulance were attending.

There was a vehicle with elderly passengers also involved but no other injuries have been reported.

Traffic was backed up to Strood on the London-bound carriageway of the A2.
