Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash in Northfleet

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash in Northfleet.

The air ambulance was called just before 6.30pm last night to reports that a 24-year-old had hit a "stationary object".

The rider is said to have suffered head, leg, arm and abdomen injuries, and was taken to King's College Hospital in London by ambulance.

Police were also called to the scene.

A Secamb spokesman said: "The incident occurred on a walkway near Painters Ash School on Downs Road, Northfleet.

"The motorcyclist suffered a head wound.

"Two ambulances were sent to the scene - one with a critical care paramedic on board.

"The patient was assessed and treated before being taken to Kings College hospital by road."
