A body found in woodland was that of missing Gravesend woman Jane Dale, it has been confirmed.
Police launched a major search after the disappearance of the 40-year-old on Sunday, July 13.
On Friday, officers revealed a woman's body had been discovered the day before in woodland near Norheads Lane in Biggin Hill.
It was confirmed to be Miss Dale and a post-mortem examination has given the cause of death as suspension by hanging.
Miss Dale's body was found close to where her car was found empty in a remote country lane.
The alarm was raised when she did not return home to Maritime Gate, Northfleet, after driving to Croydon at about 2pm on July 13.
She was last seen in Purley at around 5.45pm that day.
It was later revealed her silver Ford Focus was found the same day, locked and empty in Norheads Lane. It is believed to have been parked there from around 7pm.
Fears had been growing for Miss Dale, with Ch Insp Simon Alland leading a major search.
Officers used specialist search teams and dogs as well as reviewing CCTV footage.
An inquest was due to be opened at Croydon Coroner's Court this week. Next of kin have been informed.
