Walk Tall in Northfleet needs male actors for its Christmas pantomime production

Calling all dames! A Northfleet charity needs men willing to pop on a frock and strut their stuff in a pantomime this Christmas.

Walk Tall, an organisation that helps young people express themselves through art and drama, is staging a production of Aladdin at the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford, from December 12.

The cast and crew had preparation for their production interrupted when the actor playing Widow Twankey pulled out, only weeks before rehearsals.

However, the show must go on and organisers are now looking for a man willing to don a sparkly dress and lots of make-up.

An ideal candidate would be over 35 with perfect comedy timing and a fondness for the stage.

Rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings and during the day on Saturday and the production will be spread across seven dates ending on December 23.

If someone can only fulfill half the dates then a shared role can be discussed.

Ann Duke, who founded Walk-Tall, said: “You need to be larger than life and comedy is the key.

"You don’t have to be able to sing, but if you can play an instrument, sing or have any extra talent that would all be welcome.

“Just be prepared to come along and work with a great team of people and have lots of fun.”
