Delays on A2 near Bean, Dartford after lorry fire

There were delays on the A2 near Dartford after emergency services were called to a lorry alight.

The incident involving a large lorry was reported around 3pm near Bean.

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the flames.

No one was injured and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We was called at 3.16pm on 15 February 2021 to a report of a lorry fire on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Bean.

"Officers are in attendance along with Kent Fire and Rescue Services."

The road reopened at 6pm.
