Ebbsfleet United have signed promising Kent-born striker Matt Godden on a month's loan from League 1 side Scunthorpe United.

The 21-year-old Canterbury-raised striker signed a pro-contract in 2009 but after making his debut for the Irons in their League Cup clash with Manchester United in September 2010 he has endured a torrid time with injuries.

Godden made his league debut against Burnley in December 2010 and has played six times for the Lincolnshire side and had loan spells at Brigg Town, Ilkeston, Matlock and has recently been at Gainsborough Trinity in Blue Square Bet North.

Godden is likely to feature in boss Liam Daish's (pictured) squad for Saturday's visit of Hyde to Stonebridge Road after Fleet striker Moses Ashikodi suffered an injury in Tuesday night's draw at AFC Telford.

The youngster reverted to playing upfront aged 14 after beginning his youth career in Canterbury as a midfielder.
