An elderly woman is being treated in hospital after a lorry and car crashed in Northfleet.

The incident in Coldharbour Road took place at around midday today and the road was temporarily closed while police and paramedics dealt with the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: "A woman in her eighties was said to have been injured in the incident. It was reported she was taken to hospital by ambulance. The road was reopened at 1.30pm."

It is not known how severe the woman's injuries were or if she was a pedestrian or a passenger.
