Bungalow fire in Botsom Lane, West Kingsdown, sees man treated for smoke inhalation

A man had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a large blaze in a bungalow overnight.

Around 20 firefighters were called out to Botsom Lane, West Kingsdown, just before 2am.

It took around four hours to get the flames under control and one man was treated at the scene after breathing in a large amount of smoke.

He was taken to hospital for precautionary checks. There were no other reported injuries.

The house was completely destroyed by the blaze, and the fire brigades from Dartford, Swanley and Thames-side managed to put the fire out after 6am.

Police and the water unit from Larkfield was also called to the scene.

Crews were still damping down the area until after 7am, to ensure it didn't re-ignite. The fire investigation team are now working to discover the cause of the fire.
