A group of life savers have been honoured by Chief Constable Officers for their heroic work.
Amongst those recognised were PCs Scott James, Jazzmin Robinson, Stuart Obbard and Philip Wilton, who were awarded Royal Humane Society Certificates for their part in resuscitating a man in Ebbsfleet back in May.

The team were called to a house in the town where they found a man hanging from a bannister. They worked together to cut him down and administered CPR until the arrival of paramedics. The man survived the incident and was later discharged from hospital.

Two new recruits and their mentors also received certificates for dealing with an incident in Northfleet,

PCs Chris Combellack, Neil Davies, Georgie Dell and Navinderpal Singh Birring, were called to a car park in the town back in March after a man collapsed and stopped breathing.

The officers worked together to administer CPR and managed to keep the man's heart beating until he reached the hospital and he survived the incident.

The certificates were awarded to the life savers by Chief Constable Alan Pughsley at an awards ceremony held at the Kent Police College.

Others recognised were Sergeants Jonathan Sheehan and Carl Lidgley for applying first aid to an injured man in Canterbury and police staff member Christine Rook. Alongside her were also two members of the public, Laura Collier and Gemma Rustrick who all worked together to administer CPR to a woman playing netball after she collapsed and stopped breathing, in Aylesford.

Chief Constable Alan Pughsley said: "Four lives have been saved thanks to the quick thinking of these individuals. They are reflection of the professionalism, compassion and bravery from those within the force.

‘It is an honour to be able to recognise those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to save life and prevent families from having to suffer a tragic loss".
