Homeless man suffers face injuries after assault in Northfleet High Street

A homeless man in his 50s was assaulted in a town centre.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened yesterday just after midnight.

He was walking from the High Street to Granby Road, Northfleet. After the attack he was found stumbling along the road with injuries to his face and body.

The man was taken to Darent Valley hospital and treated for injuries.

Sergeant Paul Diddams said: "While there is no description of who may be responsible for this assault I would like to appeal for witnesses who may have information or seen the incident."
