Out-of-work people and teenagers looking for their first jobs stand to win employment on a £120 million development.

But they will have to be from Gravesham.

Local builders, contractors and suppliers were told today they would be favoured if they bid for work - and give work to the unemployed.

Medium and small builders, specialists and suppliers were guests of Edinburgh House. It has submitted plans to rebuild Gravesend's heritage quarter.

Gravesham council is expected to consider the proposals next Spring.

If approved up to 1,000 jobs has been promised by Edinburgh House. Many could be local apprentices.
