Man arrested for being drunk and disorderly after walking into a window of shop in Gravesend

A man was arrested yesterday after he walked into a window at a shop in Gravesend.

The incident happened near the Costa Coffee outlet in the High Street, shortly after 3pm.

Police were called to the scene and they arrested the man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

He was later given a fine and released.

One man, who didn't want to be named, said: "I was in Costa when a man with a shaved head walked into a glass window.

"A police van then arrived and the man who had walked into the window was in cuffs and was put into the van."

James Walker, a spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called to a report that a man was causing a disturbance in the Gravesend High Street area at 3.13pm.

"A 36-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

"He has since been released from custody and issued with a £90 penalty notice disposal."
