Northfleet: Man resuscitated at Cygnet Leisure Centre

A man was brought back to life after collapsing at a leisure centre last night.

He suffered a cardiac arrest at Cygnet Leisure Centre, Old Perry Street, Northfleet, just after 8pm.

Customers and staff rushed to his aid in the minutes before medics arrived and a spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service thanked them for their efforts.

An air ambulance road crew, one ambulance and three response cars were sent to the centre and following CPR and use of a defibrillator the man's heart restarted.

He was taken to King's College Hospital, London, by ambulance in a serious condition, where he remains.
