He denies attempting to murder people in the vicinity of the nightclub in Queen Street, as well as attempting to murder Pierre Jermaine Joseph and attempting to murder Katie Wells.

Abdul, of McMillan Street, Deptford south east London, also pleaded not guilty to two offences of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Mr Joseph and Miss Wells.

But he admitted two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving while at the wheel of a Suzuki Vitara.

His trial is due to start on September 17 and expected to last five days.

Abdul appeared at Maidstone Crown Court in Kent via TV link with HMP Belmarsh in Woolwich, south east London.

The Vitara drove into Blake's club just before midnight on the Saturday, March 17, and shortly before Grime rap artist Giggs was to perform.

It was reported that at least 13 people suffered injuries which included a dislocated knee, broken shin bone, dislocated pelvis, cuts and bruises.

Miss Wells, 18, who lives in Gravesend, was said at the time to be the most seriously injured.

She suffered a broken pelvis and was taken to King's College Hospital in London for treatment.

She is now home, and released a statement in April in which she thanked staff at the nightclub for their help and support, as well as family, friends and well-wishers.

Abdul was remanded in custody by Judge David Griffith-Jones QC until a pre-trial review on September 7.

Prosecutor Simon Taylor said at a previous hearing that CCTV would be 'illustrative' in the case.
