Police and ambulance called to Queen Street, Gravesend after man is pronounced dead

A man has been found dead in a busy town centre.

Police were called to Queen Street in Gravesend just before 5.15pm yesterday after concerns were raised about a man's welfare.

Despite the efforts of medics to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "A man in his 60s was pronounced dead in Queen Street.

"There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner."

Witnesses reported how they saw police cars and ambulances in the town centre.
