Northfleet: Man rescued after three-vehicle smash in London Road

A driver was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a three-vehicle collision in Northfleet last night.

The man, in his 40s, had to be cut free from his silver Peugeot by firefighters following the crash in London Road at about 10.10pm.

This morning he remained in a London hospital in a serious condition.

The other vehicles involved were a black Toyota Avensis and a red Mazda 3.

The road was temporarily closed while fire crews from Thames-side and Dartford made the scene safe.

They used hydraulic lifting equipment to get the man, who is local to the area, out of the car.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw anything in the moments before the crash.
