Police appeal after man 'took hold of' 11-year-old girl at Shorne Woods Country Park

Police are appealing for information after reports that a man took hold of a young girl at a popular family park.

Officers were called to Shorne Woods Country Park on Friday afternoon after receiving a call about a man acting inappropriately.

It is believed that a man took hold of an 11-year-old girl but managed to resist and ran away.

Detectives have now put out a plea for anyone who has any information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Ged Boulton, of Kent Police, said: "This is an isolated incident but we are treating it seriously and would encourage anyone with information to contact police."

The incident is reported to have happened between 1pm and 1.30pm on Friday, August 21.
