Man cut out his car and taken to hospital on a spinal board after crash in Cuxton

A man had to be cut out of a car and taken to hospital on a spinal board after a crash with another car.

Firefighters and South East Coast Ambulance were called to Cuxton Road, Cuxton at 5pm yesterday.

A man in his 40s was trapped in one of the cars. He was treated by an off duty paramedic before firefighters arrived on the scene.

Fire crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to cut the roof off the car.

He was removed using a spinal long board and handed into the care of SECAmb, who arrived with two ambulances and two response cars.

He and another man, in his 60s, were take to Medway hopsital. Neither of the men's injuries are life threatening.

Emergency services left the scene just before 6pm.
