Cllr Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi and his mayoress, Mrs Manveen Kaur Dhesi, already have one child, a three year old son named Jugaad.

The pair were at the official opening yesterday of the Town Pier pontoon, a £2.3 million investment to attract ships and sailors to Gravesend.

Cllr Dhesi, who relinquishes the office next week, said: "It is obviously a great moment in one's life to be a father. It is a good time to have a second baby."
