Meet the Man of Appeal!

It's Stace Man!

THWAPP! A mysterious caped crusader was seen cruising the streets of Gravesend today with his pants on the outside.

Stace Man was in the town centre to spread the word about the Stacey Mowle appeal and recruit members of the public for the Conga for Stacey event on Sunday.

The youngster, of Trafalgar Road, Gravesend, suffers from neuroblastoma and her family has launched an appeal to find the necessary £500,000.

Armed with a supersonic mega phone, the fearless hero was accompanied by Stace Police Officer Healey Trott, 10.

The masked avenger, who refused to reveal his identity, said: "We’ve been pleased with the response, I’m here to fight for Stacey’s cause. Ultimately we need another 350,000 people to give a £1 each.

“I urge the people of Gravesend to please put there hands in their pockets and give a pound each.”

Stace Man’s next mission is tonight at the Hot Rod Diner in Northfleet where he plans to defeat a different kind of foe for the appeal.

In a sponsored man vs food challenge, he plans to eat a volcano burger consisting of chillies sandwiched between three burger patties.

Incredibly he plans to hold the burger with his hands and use his mouth to eat it.

The family fun day event this Sunday will see singer and TV presenter Cheryl Baker is expected to add a little fizz to a world-record breaking bid to help seriously ill youngster Stacey Mowle.

The Bucks Fizz star will be hosting the attempt to create the UK’s longest conga at Gravesend Rugby Club on Sunday, August 4.

More than 1,500 people are wanted to kick up their heels and raise money to help seven-year-old Stacey receive life-saving cancer treatment which is neither funded by the NHS nor available in the UK.

The Conga 4 Stacey fun day at the club in Donald Biggs Drive is just one of many events that have been organised by generous supporters, including family friend Steve Nash, from Highview, in Vigo.

He said: “It has turned into an absolute monster. We have a big line up and if we pull it off and the weather is good then we will have a really good event on our hands – great for the charity, great for Gravesend.”

The fun kicks off at 11.30am, with the conga expected to line-up at 12.30pm.

Other attractions include Abba and Take That tribute acts, an Elvis impersonator, live music, the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and dance and cheerleading performances.

To keep the younger children entertained, there will be bouncy castles and inflatable slides, archery, face-painting, and mini football.

There will also be a Mowle’s Market made up of 40 local business stalls, as well as a barbecue, hog roast and cake stalls.

Volunteers are also wanted to take part in head-shaving and body-waxing sessions to help keep the crowds entertained between band performances.

“On top of all that we are using Conga 4 Stacey to release the Stacey Mowle Appeal single called Stacey,” added Steve.

“It is a great track and will be sold at the venue, on iTunes and Asda.” He said the aim was to sell enough to get the track into the Top 40.

Entry on the day is £4 before 12.30pm, and £6 thereafter.

The event ends at 8pm.
