A crash caused delays on the A2.
It happened on the London-bound carriageway close to Cobham, where the A-road joins junction 1 of the M2.
A van careered off the carriageway and ended up on its side on the hard shoulder, police said.
It was initially thought several vehicles were involved.
Emergency services were called at about 5.30pm and a man was treated by paramedics.
His injuries were minor, a police spokesman said.
The accident initially blocked the road.
Highways officials said there was also a crash on the opposite side of the carriageway at around 6pm, but this has since been cleared.
