Elderly man taken to hospital after a car ends up on its side after crash in Coopers Road, Northfeet

A pensioner was freed from his car by firefighters after it ended up on its side after a crash yesterday afternoon.

A crew were called out to Coopers Road, Northfleet at about 4.30pm after the pensioner's car rolled on its side after a collision with another vehicle.

Firefighters used specialist equipment to reach the pensioner and extracted him via the boot of his vehicle and placed him on a longboard.

The elderly man was then passed to the care of paramedics and put in an awaiting ambulance.

It is not know how serious his injuries were.

Officers from Kent Police managed the traffic a the scene while the man was freed from the car.

Firefighters spent about half-an-hour at the scene.
