Police are investigating after a little girl was picked up by a woman she did not know.
The youngster was with her family on Gordon Promenade when she was approached and picked up by a woman, who is said to have tried to walk away with the child.
Officers received a report about the incident at about 3pm on Saturday while the family were having a picnic.
A police spokesman said: "The father of the little girl took his child back and they left the promenade.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident."
