Police close St Alban's Close as emergency services descend on Gravesend street

Two people are in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing.

A large number of emergency vehicles were called to St Alban's Close, Gravesend on Monday evening where two people were found injured.

Police confirmed two people had been stabbed and were being treated in a London hospital.

Police are now appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident, which took place at 8pm, to contact them.

South East Coast Ambulance Service also went to the scene and the injured people were taken to a London hospital for medical treatment where their condition is described as critical but stable.

Police officers are making enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Witnesses earlier told KentOnline "loads of police and emergency vehicles" were parked in the area.
