Arriva offers reward after buses attacked with bricks in Gravesend and Dartford

A series of attacks targeting Arriva buses have left the company offering £200 to help them find those responsible.

There have been 21 reported incidents of smashed windows in the North Kent area since Wednesday, August 23, and each involved the use of either stones or bricks.

Buses on both the 481 and 483 services, which run between Gravesend and Bluewater, were targeted on Wednesday, October 18.

The 423 service, which travels between New Ash Green and Bluewater, also reported disruption on Friday, October 20 and Monday, October 23.

An Arriva spokesman said: “Unfortunately windows were recently broken on services 483 and 423, which is not the first incident of its kind.

“We are working closely with the police and offering a £200 reward for any information leading to the successful arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.

“The safety of our passengers and drivers is always paramount.”

This news comes after similar issues on Wednesday, October 11 meant that 480 and 490 services were forced to terminate at the Lion Roundabout, missing stops between there and Mackenzie Way and Riverview Drive whilst police were consulted.
