Virgin Media broadband upgrade work in Gravesend High Street to last three weeks

Residents and business owners in one Kent high street will have to endure constant drilling for another three weeks.

Work to upgrade Gravesend's broadband speed started yesterday, with Virgin Media engineers excavating a channel of the pedestrian street.

Loud drilling and scraping tools will soundtrack the town centre until the end of the month, although engineers will work there up from the West Street junction over that period.

It is possible work may be delayed due to the age of the town centre.

The project is not expected to block access to any businesses and Virgin has said someone will be stationed on site to field any questions from the public.
