Boy, 16, charged with Gravesend burglary

A schoolboy has been charged with burglary after three watches and a laptop were stolen from a house.

The 16-year-old, from Gravesend, allegedly broke into a home in Medhurst Crescent at some point between last Tuesday and this Tuesday.

A suitcase and various items of clothing were also taken.

He was arrested yesterday.

He was subsequently charged with the offence and a further charge of a burglary with intent to steal, relating to a burglary at a home in Abbey Road on Thursday, May 3, in which no items were stolen.

During the arrest he is also alleged to have assaulted an officer, which has resulted in a further charge of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.

The boy has been bailed to attend Medway and North Kent Youth Court on Tuesday, June 26.
