Every picture tells a story says street photographer Gagan Sadana

An international street photographer is getting in front of the camera to inspire artists in his home town.

Gagan Sadana, 37, of Valley Drive, Gravesend, is hosting an interactive conversation about street photography at Towncentric Gravesend Visitor Information Centre next month.

He will share his tips for creating the perfect black and white shot while telling the tales behind every photo.

Gagan is passionate about photographing people in public places. Some of his local work sees everyday shoppers in the town centre. As one of 12 ambassadors for Panasonic Europe, he has his work displayed globally, something he said puts Gravesend on the map.

He is holding the talk to give people an insight into photography and hopes to inspire others to take it on.

He said: “My street photography work is candid and in black and white with a rare exception of colour. In my view, each and every street photographer has their own unique style.

“We can draw an inspiration from each other’s work but ultimately it’s our own observation and view of life that shapes what we see in our viewfinder.”

Gagan has previously given talks at local tearooms to encourage more community-based art and also to advertise his availability for documentary projects and events. His talk at Towncentric, in St George’s shopping centre, is on Saturday, October 15 at 11am.

Tickets cost £3 and places can be booked over the phone by calling 01474 337600.
