Gravesend town centre was brought to a standstill at lunchtime after a lorry got stuck and blocked the entire width of a road.

The Blakemore Wholesale delivery vehicle was photographed in Windmill Street by local snapper Rich Cottee.

He said the driver had been trying to turn left into the road from Lord Street when he got stuck.

Mr Cottee added: "Eventually he got out just by going forward and reversing hundreds of times and lots of people offering advice as to what should be done."

Traffic is now flowing as normal.
