Thames-side and Dartford firefighters tackle huge grass blaze at Ebbsfleet International Station

Thirty firefighters were deployed to tackle a huge grass fire next to Ebbsfleet International Station last night.

Six fire engines, including crews from Thames-side and Dartford, were called to the train station at 6pm after four acres of land caught alight next to the terminal.

The crews remained on the scene for two hours before the blaze was put out. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Officers from the British Transport Police were also called to the incident. The fire broke out hours after another grass blaze in nearby Craylands Lane in Swanscombe.
