View across River Thames at Gravesend changed following Tilbury Power Station demolition

Tilbury Power Station is one step closer to being removed from the bank of the River Thames after the tenth demolition of the building.

Two bunkers and the associated conveyor transfer tower were blown up at 9am, sending a rumble across the Thames.

The bunker structures were mainly constructed of steel and were around 60m high, 100m long and 20m wide.

The attached tower was around 12m high, 25m long and 12m wide.

It was considered a "low impact" demolition, although a loud boom was heard from the Gravesend side of the river.

The most dramatic demolition took place back in September when the plant's two 170m tall towers came crashing down in the seventh explosion.

The other main structures, including the boiler houses, are scheduled for demolition throughout the year and into 2019.
