England fans in Gravesend help cyclist crowd surf as they celebrate World Cup penalty shootout victory over Colombia

There's crowd surfing... and there's crowd surfing on a bike after England win a dramatic World Cup penalty shoot-out.

Scores of fans swarmed out of The Goose, on King Street, Gravesend last night after Gareth Southgate's side clinched England's first ever World Cup penalty shoot-out victory.

As they chanted 'don't take me home' and other terrace classics one brave photographer, regular contributor Fraser Gray, got in among the action and filmed the extraordinary scenes.

At one point the crowd picked up a cyclist and carried him for several metres before he eventually lost balance. He appeared to be loving it just as much as them.

Jordan Pickford pulled off a fantastic save before Eric Dier slotted home under immense pressure to seal the shootout victory 4-3.

The Three Lions had gone in front in the 57th minute thanks to a spot kick from captain and leading goalscorer Harry Kane.

It looked like the side would win in normal time of particularly ill-tempered clash until a towering header drew Columbia level in the 93rd minute paving the way for a typically tense period of extra time in which neither side was able to score.

As penalties loomed the commentators helpfully informed viewers that England had only ever won a shootout once in seven attempts and never at a World Cup.

It was also England's first knockout win at a tournament since 2006.

It was unsurprising then, that scenes of jubilation broke out throughout the county.

But other fans put a spoke in the jubilation - as a fight broke out at the Command House pub in Chatham.

England will now face Sweden in the quarter finals at 3pm on Saturday.

If they win they'll play either Russia or Croatia, depending on who wins at 7pm on Saturday.

The final would see them face either Brazil, Belgium, Uruguay or France.
