Steve Brown wants to bring former Charlton defender Yado Mambo back to Ebbsfleet.

Mambo was impressive during a six-month loan spell at Stonebridge Road two seasons ago and the 21-year-old is top of Fleet boss Brown’s wish-list.

Released by the Addicks at the end of last season, Mambo has since had a knee operation and is looking to rebuild his career.

Brown and assistant Steve Gritt have been following the centre-back, who was loaned out to AFC Wimbledon and Shrewsbury last season.

Brown said: “I’ve made no secret of the fact I’m looking to strengthen in the centre-half position. If I learn that Yado Mambo is available, then I would try to bring him to Ebbsfleet.

“It’s interesting to see what happens with Yado when he’s done his rehab.

“Yado may want a Football League club and we’re lower down the food chain. But if Yado is struggling to pick something up, then I’m confident I could be competitive in bringing him to Ebbsfleet."

Ebbsfleet are still looking for their first home league win under Brown’s management and will move above Saturday’s opponents, Bath, if they achieve it on Saturday.

One player the Fleet will be without for Saturday is striker Michael Thalassitis, who is away with the Cyprus under-21s.
