Jamie Day has urged his goal-shy Ebbsfleet squad to shoot on sight.

The Fleet’s play-off hopes are hanging by a thread after scoring just six goals in their last six league matches.

It’s a statistic that has had Day and his coaching staff working on their attacking flair during training ahead of Saturday’s trip to Concord.

“We’ve done some work this week to get people into better areas,” admitted Day.

“I don’t think we shoot enough from other areas. Adam Cunnington and Danny Kedwell have both got good goal ratios but we don’t chip in from elsewhere.

“We rely on them two to score goals and if they don’t, we seem to struggle.

“Matt Godden has scored two in four but all-round we’re not shooting when we need to and we’ve been a bit sloppy in the final third.

“We need to have a quicker tempo and get more people in the box. They need to want to score.

“Our tempo is too slow and it gives teams more time to set up and make it harder to break
them down.”
