Ebbsfleet 4 Concord 0 - match report

Bradley Bubb scored twice as Ebbsfleet beat Concord 4-0 to move closer to the Vanarama National League South summit on Saturday.

Bubb scored once in each half, with Kenny Clark and Sean Shields adding the others as Fleet earned their fourth clean sheet in five games.

The victory cuts the gap on Maidenhead to three points after the table toppers needed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at home to Poole.

Clark headed Fleet in front after only six minutes - his second in successive home games - rising to convert Andy Drury's corner.

Fellow centre-half Dave Winfield and Danny Kedwell both went close.

Winfield was in the action again, heading Shields' cross wide, before Sam Deering was booked for diving after going down under a challenge from Concord keeper Bailey Vose.

He joined Jack Connors, who picked up the game's first yellow for a foul on Concord substitute Tony Stokes.

Stokes, who replaced injured Cameron Norman early on, fired just wide as Concord looked to play their way back into the contest. Steve Cawley also went close.

Fleet doubled the lead three minutes before half-time, Kedwell's low cross hit home by Bubb for his seventh of the season.

Vose punched clear off the head of Clark soon after half-time, before Concord striker Amos Nasha tried his luck from 40-yards with a dipping effort.

Shields added the third just past the hour mark after referee Lloyd Wood played on when Vose floored Deering in the box - which would have been a penalty on this occasion - Shields taking advantage to fire home into the roof of the net.

Clark was the third Fleet booking after a flare-up with Concord skipper James White before Bubb sealed things with the fourth goal, five minutes from time, from Drury's pass.
