Ebbsfleet now have a dozen midfielders on their books but boss Daryl McMahon insists everyone in his squad has a role to play next season.

New signings John Paul Kissock and Jordan Parkes will be competing for a start alongside the likes of Dean Rance, Stuart Lewis, Michael West and Matt Johnson – to name just four – in 2015-16.

But across a 42-game season, McMahon can see each of those players contributing to the Fleet's National League South promotion push.

He said: "What I will say to the boys is that it’s a squad game. From day one I’ll stress that it’s not about individuals, it’s about us as a collective being successful.

"If you’re not in the team straight away, work hard and fight for your place.

"Everyone will get an opportunity to play.”

McMahon captained Ebbsfleet from midfield in each of the last two seasons but he’ll be staying in the dugout from now on.

He said: “I’m not going to play. We’ve got more than enough ability in that midfield and we’ve also got people like Shilow Tracey coming through (from the academy).

“He did well this season but he needs to play men’s football before going into our first team.”
