Ebbsfleet United sign defender Chris Bush from Chelmsford City

Ebbsfleet have signed Chelmsford City defender Chris Bush.

The 25-year-old played against Fleet in the National League South play-off final in May but will now be part of their National League campaign.

Ebbsfleet lost club captain Dave Winfield to a serious knee injury in the first week of the season, Kenny Clark is struggling with a hamstring problem and Sam Magri is about to go away with the Malta national team so Bush's arrival to bolster their defence is timely.

Bush has spent most of his career playing at this level, for Salisbury, AFC Wimbledon, Gateshead, Hereford, Welling and Lincoln.

He has a very long throw and can play centrally or at full-back.

Bush could make his debut at home to Gateshead, one of his former clubs, on Saturday.
