Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon on the visit of Maidenhead United

Football finally returns to Stonebridge Road on Saturday more than a month since Ebbsfleet's last home game.

Fleet have only played once during that time, drawing 1-1 at Leyton Orient on March 10.

They're in good form and have taken 13 of a possible 15 points in the National League but have felt their momentum curtailed recently.

Gateshead's involvement in the FA Trophy left them without a league game on Saturday, two weeks after the visit of Wrexham was snowed off.

"It's been frustrating," admitted manager Daryl McMahon. "All you can is try to keep the intensity in training and the players have trained well in this period. It is difficult when you have no games.

"We're at home quite a bit over the next two or three weeks so we're looking forward to it and facing Maidenhead on Saturday. We know them well from last season.

"We watched them last Tuesday and on Saturday. They play 4-4-2, they're aggressive and go on the front foot.

"They've got Sean Marks and Moses Emmanuel up front and Jake Hyde has come on in both games and done well. We know how they'll play and they know how we'll play. I don't think we've changed massively in terms of style from last season."

Maidenhead pipped Ebbsfleet to the National League South championship last April after a high-quality title race.

McMahon said: "I was looking the other day at the South and (leaders) Havant are on 60-something points.

"You've got eight games to go and they need 20 points to get to what we got to in the first year (84 in 2015-16).

"Last year we got 96 and Maidenhead got 98 so it's a huge difference. Both of us last year, and Sutton in the first year, had really good campaigns."

Fleet are seven points outside the play-offs with a game in hand.

McMahon said: "We'll try to stay in the top 10, win as many games as we can win in the last nine and see where we end up. We're safe from relegation now so it's about us having a right go and seeing how high we can finish.

"We know we've got tough games. We've got a lot of travelling to do; Barrow, Gateshead and Torquay still to come but we know the home games are all against sides above us, apart from Maidenhead, so we can affect everything around us.

"It's important to start the game fast on Saturday, get the crowd behind us and try to continue the decent run we're on."

Myles Weston won't be involved as he's on international duty with Antigua & Barbuda.

Defender Sam Magri will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury but McMahon is hopeful he'll be able to start pre-season training at the end of June.
