Margate have signed Ebbsfleet United midfielder Tom Phipp for a four-figure fee.

Phipp has barely featured for the Fleet this season, making only six appearances - all from the bench - in the Skrill South.

He had a successful one-month loan spell with Margate's Ryman League Premier Division rivals Maidstone United before Christmas but didn't make an impact on his return to Stonebridge Road.

Having been at Ebbsfleet for three seasons under the management of Liam Daish, Phipp was one of four players kept on at the club when Steve Brown took over last summer.

He spoke of his excitement at being part of the club's bright new future under their Kuwaiti owners, but the 21-year-old didn't start a single league game under Brown.

And he now joins the Gate revolution being led by manager Terry Brown and funded by new owner Bob Laslett.
