Shane Huke scored in the third minute of stoppage-time to earn Ebbsfleet a point at Basingstoke on Saturday.

That extended the Fleet's unbeaten run in The Skrill South to five games, although four of those have ended in draws.

Steve Brown's side made the perfect start in Hampshire when they took a third-minute lead. Billy Bricknell teed up Dean Rance, who rifled a shot into the net from 25 yards.

Basingstoke levelled 10 minutes before the break. Rob Rice and former Ebbsfleet midfielder Neil Barrett combined to set up Manny Williams, who placed a low shot beyond Preston Edwards.

And it was Barrett who gave Town the lead against his old club with 12 minutes left at the Camrose. Ex-Dartford defender Adam Green sent over a corner which Barrett headed in.

But just as it looked like the Fleet were heading for defeat, Huke headed them level following a last-gasp goalmouth scramble.

Basinsgtoke were convinced goalkeeper Louis Wells - another former Dartford player - had been fouled in the build-up, but the referee waved their claims away and the goal stood.

Huke has now scored in his last three games.

Ebbsfleet, who sit 15th, host third-bottom Chelmsford on Tuesday (7.45pm).
