Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon is not ready to press the panic button

Fleet boss Daryl McMahon is not worried that his team are 12 points off top spot.

The Fleet fell further behind early season pacesetters Maidenhead last Saturday after dropping two points at East Thurrock.

But with roles reversed after Ebbsfleet set off at a blistering pace last year, McMahon is not ready to press the panic button.

“Maidenhead have started great and are flying,” said McMahon, whose Fleet side sit sixth in National League South.

“We were there ourselves last year and it is a difficult thing to do. I’m not saying they can’t do it but we’re looking after ourselves.

“The only thing we can do is look at our results. We’ve got to keep on doing what we have over the last five games.

“We’ve got the players and desire to keep turning up and winning games. We have ambition and a desire to be successful.

“We’re not looking too far ahead, though, we are going game by game.

“I’m more relaxed about the league table because of last year. Our aim is to hunt them down. The pressure is on them and they can go through a bit of what we had to last year.”
