Osborn nearly featured for Concord on loan last season but the deal fell through after the player picked up an injury.

Meanwhile, vice-chairman Peter Varney has responded to Margate's claim over the failed deal for Sean Shields.

Gate were unable to agree a deal for Shields and Mr Varney responded by saying that Margate had treated the player poorly.

He said: "Margate approached us to sign both Matt Johnson and Sean Shields and Matt was offered a 18 month contract and a deal was done between the clubs.

"Sean was told that a contract for next year on terms acceptable to both Margate and the player were fine but that the problem was this season. Ebbsfleet agreed to pay Sean a sum to make this year possible but then Sean was told the deal for next year had been withdrawn.

"Margate than asked to take him on loan at a reduced cost until the end of the season but the rules allow him to go only for 65 days. Margate then asked to take him on a month's loan.

"I think Margate's treatment of the player has been poor and I feel for him in this situation as he was happy to make the move if they kept to their original offer to him."
