Ebbsfleet United have made goalkeeper Preston Edwards available for loan.

The 25-year-old hasn’t been able to get back in the Fleet side since he was sent off at Hayes & Yeading on September 13.

Brandon Hall took his place for the next league game against Sutton – even though Edwards’ suspension was overturned – and the ex-Hayes man has started every match since.

He has six clean sheets in eight league appearances.

Edwards has been Fleet’s No.1 for the past four seasons but after two months on the bench, he raised the subject with manager Steve Brown.

Brown said: "Preston came to see me last week about the option of going out on loan. We’ve circulated his name to all the other clubs.

"But goalkeeper is a specific position and it needs to be a club that needs a goalkeeper (for Preston to go there). We’ve got to wait for the right club.

"Preston has been outstanding in terms of training. Both goalkeepers are pulling each other through.

"When you have two good goalkeepers, one will always be disgruntled. Preston’s in a position that he’s not been in for a long time."

Edwards could return to the starting XI against Farnborough on Saturday because Hall has been struggling with a thigh strain this week.
