Ebbsfleet manager Daryl McMahon says pressure is all on higher-division Woking ahead of sides' FA Trophy first round

Ebbsfleet go into their FA Trophy first-round clash against Woking as the underdogs this weekend.

That’s the verdict of Fleet boss Daryl McMahon as his side host a team from the division above them at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

The Fleet brushed aside Harrow in the previous round but McMahon knows it will be a different story this time around.

He said: “It’s probably the first time we go into a match when we’re not classed as the favourites. They are in the league above us and are playing against better sides week in, week out.

“It will be competitive but for the first time this year, the spotlight will be on our opponents."

Fleet won the FA Trophy in 2008 at Wembley when they beat Torquay and it’s a competition McMahon looks forward to.

He added: “It’s a great competition and a fantastic opportunity to play at Wembley.

“There will be teams in the league above who will fancy their chances of getting to the final. We’re looking forward to Saturday against Woking and we’ll see what it brings.”

Fleet welcome back defender Dave Winfield following his four-game suspension but Yado Mambo is cup-tied and Mark Phillips is still banned.

Darren McQueen is also set to be involved after a knee injury and Stuart Lewis also came through a late cameo at Oxford City with no reaction. New signing Andy Drury is in line to start after impressing in the second half on Saturday.
