Ebbsfleet United sign former Charlton Athletic defender Lawrie Wilson from Port Vale

Ebbsfleet have signed full-back Lawrie Wilson from Port Vale.

The 30-year-old could make his Fleet debut at Maidstone on Tuesday night.

Wilson, a long-term target of Daryl McMahon, played with the Ebbsfleet manager at Stevenage after beginning his career at Charlton.

He returned to The Valley after five years with Stevenage during which time he helped Boro climb from the Conference into League 1.

Wilson stepped up again to the Championship with Charlton and had three seasons with the Addicks before moving on to Bolton Wanderers.

He won promotion from League 1 with the Trotters and signed a two-year deal at Port Vale last summer.

Wilson made seven appearances for Vale in League 2, the most recent of which came at Stevenage in September.
