Ebbsfleet United defender Kenny Clark on the play-off at Aldershot Town

Kenny Clark says Ebbsfleet go into their play-off clash at Aldershot full of confidence.

Fleet have only lost one of their last 14 matches and that run saw them break into the National League top seven.

They're slight underdogs for Wednesday night's quarter-final at The Rec but won't mind that one bit.

Clark said: "With the travelling we've done over the past two months, and some of the places we've been, some of the results we've picked up against ex-League clubs like Hartlepool and Leyton Orient, we're a confident bunch at the minute and hopefully we can take that into Wednesday night.

"It's been a tough two months but we've stuck together and we're now in the play-offs.

"I don't think it's going to sink in until we're actually there under the floodlights in front of the crowd and realise what's at stake."

What's at stake is a semi-final trip to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, just a year after Fleet were promoted from National League South.

Clark said: "When we first came up, we said being in the top 10 was the aim but we knew we were capable of achieving more.

"The group - staff, players and medical team - is so together. We all dig in for one another.

"We know Aldershot play good football. It was a tough game when we drew 0-0 at their place but everyone in the changing-room is relishing the chance.

"We're really looking forward to it."

Clark started 37 of the 46 league games during the regular season.

"I've really enjoyed it," he said. "It's been tough, don't get me wrong but to test yourself one step above against better players and going to some nice stadiums, I've really enjoyed it.

"Overall I'm pleased with how the season's gone - minus the injuries.

"It has been tough stepping up a level and I've learned a few lessons but hopefully that will stand me in good stead for Wednesday."
